McMurray Family

Several weeks after the Oshkosh airshow, we got word that a group of touring warbirds was making a stop very local to where we live, and so we spent an afternoon showing the kids through some vintage airplanes and giving a hands-on history lesson: 

 

B-17 Flying Fortress

B-24 Liberator
B-25 Mitchell

TF-51D  Mustang 

 

They were offering rides in each of the planes, but unfortunately the cost was well out of our price range. We did get a nice surprise however: one of our fellow visitors (there with his daughter and son-in-law) had been a turret gunner on the B-25 over Europe, and so we spent a very pleasant 20 minutes talking with him about his experiences.
